Hydrogen supply.
CO₂ storage.
From the same rock.
Decahydron develops ultramafic rock formations as a commercial resource. We sell hydrogen produced from the ground to industrial off-takers, and we sell permanent CO₂ storage to emitters, onshore and close to their plants.
Our projects sit in the northern Emirates and in Greece, next to cement plants, power stations, data centres and one of the world’s largest bunkering ports. Weatherford is a shareholder and drills for us.
Hydrogen supply
- Hydrogen from the ground, not from an electrolyser or a gas reformer: no power-price or gas-price exposure in the molecule.
- Delivered where you need it: at the wellhead, by pipeline to your fence, or as power, which we are assessing with SNOC for energy-intensive sites such as data centres.
- Long-term supply agreements for early off-takers, from the first appraisal volumes onwards.
CO₂ storage
- A fraction of the cost of offshore storage: no liquefaction, no shipping, no offshore wells. Our cost is independently certified by EY.
- Onshore, at the emitter: no liquefaction, no shipping, no offshore infrastructure.
- Mineralised, so permanent: the CO₂ becomes carbonate rock, leaving no plume to monitor for decades. No water required.
What hydrogen from natural gas costs today
How it is calculated: the gas and the carbon it takes to make one kilogram of hydrogen by steam-methane reforming, at today’s European market prices: (0.08 × TTF gas + 0.0095 × EU carbon allowance) × EUR/USD. Updated every business day after the European market close. Natural hydrogen from the ground needs neither.
Project pipeline
| Project | Product | Partners | Stage | Next milestone |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sharjah, UAE | Hydrogen supply; power for industrial users | SNOC, Weatherford | Appraisal | Well re-entry and flow test, early 2027 |
| Othrys, Greece (PITHOS) | CO₂ storage for cement | Holcim / HERACLES, Weatherford, HEREMA | Pilot | 150,000 t of CO₂ injected over three years |
| Fujairah, UAE | Hydrogen supply and CO₂ storage | FOIZ | Exploration | Surface programme, then exploration wells with a CO₂ injection trial |
Built by engineers
Decahydron is run by people who have drilled wells, injected CO₂ and financed energy projects. The team spent decades at BP, TotalEnergies and ADCO, helped deliver Al Reyadah, the UAE’s 800,000-tonne-a-year CO₂ injection project, and has taken companies through three IPOs. Weatherford brings drilling, reservoir characterisation and wellbore analytics as a shareholder and contractor.
Our subsurface models are built from well data, seismic and a proprietary AI platform that screens every ultramafic belt before we commit capital.
Meet the team
The CO₂ stops being CO₂
Injected into ultramafic rock, CO₂ reacts and precipitates as carbonate. There is no cap rock to rely on and no plume to watch: nothing left that can leak. That is why storage by mineralisation can be priced as a service, not as a liability.
